Determining and directing strategy, identifying key risk factors, advising on key financial matters, transformation issues and implementing set policies according to the constitution of the Children’s Home

The Board works toward the sustainability of the Children’s Home by implementing the following strategic measures:

Going Green Project
Catherine Robson could utilise a grant by the erstwhile NLDTF to install heat pumps, thereby reducing electricity usage with 34% in 2012. We are in the process of changing to solar lighting and hope to start making use of our own water supply in the foreseeable future.

Sponsor a child project
The Advisory Board identify and motivate individuals who can sponsor a child with the difference between the amount received as subsidy and that what is needed to optimally care for a child’s individual needs. The amount per child would differ from child to child, but would amount to a minimum of R 146-00 per month to a maximum dictated by the individual therapeutic, scholastic and other needs of the individual child.
